Sidon

Sidon
A coastal city of Phoenicia often associated with Tyre (Jer. 25:22) and 35 km. (25 miles) to the south of it (in modern Lebanon). In NT times it was known as a place of sophistication and wealth, and Jesus apparently travelled in that area (Mark 7:24), as also did Paul (Acts 27:3).
